What are 'Smart Study Materials'?

Smart Study Materials are AI-curated notes and key readings tailored to your classes and assessments.

They give you a solid starting point — summaries, concepts, and frameworks designed around your module topics — so you can spend less time hunting for materials and more time actually studying.

Available to Viaduct Premium and free-trial users.

What do I get during my free trial?

Every new user starts with a 2-week free trial of Viaduct Premium — full access to all Premium features, including Study Metrics, Smart Study Materials, and unlimited notes and storage.

During the trial, your AI runs on ChatGPT-5 Mini instead of ChatGPT-5, but you can upgrade to the full Premium version at any time to unlock ChatGPT-5 and keep all your features without interruption.

Can I collaborate with coursemates on Viaduct?

Absolutely. You can share notes, create task lists, message classmates, and set up shared study spaces for your study group or group project.

How do Study Metrics work - and what's the point of them?

Study Metrics help you understand your study habits at a glance.

Right now, Viaduct tracks your total study time, consecutive study days, and how many classes, readings, and assessments you’ve completed.

New metrics — like your most productive study days, total notes made, and even your most-used words — are coming soon.
It’s about giving you insight, not pressure, so you can study smarter and stay consistent.

How does Viaduct keep my data private?

Your data stays yours. All notes, messages, and metrics are encrypted and stored securely.

Can I use Viaduct on my phone or tablet?

Yes — but Viaduct is currently optimised for desktop, where most students do their studying.

The desktop version offers the best experience right now, but our mobile platform is improving fast, and the Viaduct app will be launching very soon.

How does Viaduct's AI differ from ChatGPT or other AI tools?

ChatGPT is a powerful general tool — but it isn’t built specifically for university life.

What's the difference between Viaduct Basic and Viaduct Premium?

Viaduct Basic is completely free and gives you the essentials — one note per class, limited storage, and 10 AI requests a month using ChatGPT-4o.

Viaduct Premium unlocks everything: unlimited notes and storage, access to Study Metrics, Smart Study Materials for every class, and unlimited AI powered by OpenAI’s ChatGPT-5 — all for just £10 a month.

Are identities verified on Viaduct?

In October/November, we will require all accounts to verify their identities using their university email addresses. This is not something you need to worry about at the moment!

Is Viaduct connected to my university's LMS?

Not yet. Viaduct isn’t integrated with university systems, which means your classes and assessments aren’t pre-loaded — you’ll add them yourself when you set up your account.

This gives you full control and flexibility, and ensures your workspace stays private and tailored to how you study.
